[origin: WO2016012886A1] The invention relates to a nipper assembly (10) of a combing assembly (X1-X16) of a combing machine, comprising a lower nipper plate (2) and an upper nipper plate (3) which is mounted such that it can move relative to said lower nipper plate, the lower nipper plate (2) having a feed trough (19) on its upper side into which a rotatably-mounted feed cylinder (9) projects; and comprising a front guiding surface (VF) which connects to said feed trough (19) and which has a nipper lip (5) provided at its end. In order to increase the strength of said nipper assembly and to improve the guidance of fibre material inside the nipper assembly ahead of the feed cylinder, it is suggested that at least one rear guiding surface (HF) is mounted upstream of said feed trough (19) and comprises, in the region of each of its lateral edges, a rib (40, 41) that projects beyond the upper side of said lower nipper plate (2).
