[origin: WO2016012887A1] The invention relates to a frame for a combing machine (1) having a plurality of combing units (X1 - X8), which are arranged adjacent to each other in a row and are attached between two frame elements (RE), which are supported on the floor (O) and are connected to each other by means of a longitudinal member (7) extending at a distance (FA) from the floor. For economical production and simple assembly, according to the invention a plurality of frame shields (RS) are provided, which are fastened to the longitudinal member at a distance (G) and which are oriented substantially vertically, and the combing units (X1 - X8) are each supported between two adjacent frame shields (RS), which are detachably connected to each other by means of at least one transverse web (QS), which extends at a distance from the longitudinal member (7).
