[origin: WO2016015906A1] The present invention relates to a ball-striking device (1), in particular a tennis, squash or badminton racket, with a head frame (2) which encompasses a striking surface, is of hollow design and is produced from plastic, in particular from a fibre-reinforced plastic, and with a shaft which is integrally formed on said head frame and has a grip, wherein the striking surface (12) is defined by at least one string (8) which is tensioned in a criss-cross manner and which forms string portions fastened substantially parallel to one another on the head frame, wherein the string portions are anchored on the head frame (2) via retainers (20) which are fastened on the inner side of the head frame in such a way that they each extend substantially perpendicularly to the striking surface, with the result that the ends (10) of the string portions that are clamped in the retainers (20) can be deflected laterally when striking a ball. With the aim of specifying such a ball-striking device and a method for producing same in which the string portions are anchored on the head frame via retainers which can be arranged precisely and easily in the head frame and are also suitable for a mass production process, provision is made for the retainers (20) to be open to one of the two sides of the striking surface (12) or to be freely accessible from one of the two sides of the striking surface (12) in order to clamp in the string defining the striking surface.
