[origin: WO2016016585A1] The invention relates to an electromagnetic contactor (1) including: - first (2) and second (2) magnetic cores, the second core (2) being mobile relative to the first core (1); - a control rod (13) mobile between an inoperative position and a supply position, said control rod (13) comprising a shoulder (131), in inoperative position: - said shoulder (131) comprises one surface in contact with said first magnetic core (2), - said first magnetic core (2) and said control rod (13) separating a first chamber (37) extending between the first (2) and second (3) magnetic cores and a second chamber (38) in which said contact plate (17) is located, and - at least one opening (40) made between said first chamber (37) and said second chamber (38) allowing the transfer of air from said first chamber (37) to said second chamber (38) when said second magnetic core (3) moves from the inoperative position to the magnetised position.
