[origin: WO2016016403A1] The present invention concerns a method for broadcasting an alert service in a system for broadcasting audiovisual digital programmes in a single-frequency network. The method comprises the steps, carried out by a module for inserting the alert service, of: - obtaining (E301, E301, E302) transmission frames comprising the alert service and other services, - associating (E303) a marker with each transmission frame, - identifying (E303, E305) the identifiers of the packets of audio and video components of the alert service and of the packets of audio and video components of the other services, - receiving a command to broadcast an alert message, - storing the video and audio packets of the alert service from the first transmission frame marker following receipt of the command to broadcast an alert message, - replacing, from the second transmission frame marker following receipt of the command to broadcast an alert message, all of the packets of the video and audio components of the services other than the alert service with the packets of the alert service stored in the backup memory and replacing the identifiers of packets of audio and video components of the alert service respectively with the identifiers of packets of the audio or video component of the replaced packet in order to form a new transmission frame.
