[origin: WO2016020586A1] The invention relates to a portable appliance for marking a surface, comprising a casing (2) that has an open front face for the passage of a marking member, the movement of which is ensured by a device for moving the marking member in a two-dimensional marking zone (Z). The casing is equipped with a nose (30) for positioning the appliance on the surface to be marked, this positioning nose delimiting, on the one hand, opposite the front face of the casing and at a distance from this front face, the two-dimensional marking zone (Z) and, on the other hand, in line with the top wall, an opening (35) for viewing the two-dimensional marking zone, the top wall of the casing being equipped with a display screen such that the latter and the two-dimensional marking zone seen through the positioning nose opening simultaneously appear in the field of vision of an operator.
