[origin: CA2957295A1] The invention relates to a holding frame (1) for holding plug connector modules (2) and for installing in a plug connector housing or for screwing onto wall surfaces, wherein the plug connector modules (2) are inserted into the holding frame (1) and retaining means (9) on the plug connector modules (2) engage with cutouts (11) provided on opposite side parts (8) of the holding frame (1). The invention furthermore relates to a corresponding method of production. In order to refine a known holding frame to the effect that simplified and/or less cost-intensive production is permitted with additional flexibility with respect to the positioning or omission of earth contacts, without impairing safe handling of the holding frame, it is proposed that a holding frame half (5, 4) has in at least one attachment section a projection (7) projecting in the direction of the other holding frame half (4, 5), which projection engages in a recess (10) in the attachment section of the other holding frame half (4, 5) so as to prevent lateral displacement of the side parts (8).
