Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2016026640A2] The invention relates to a tracer composition (1-1"') for tracer ammunition which can be fired from a gun, with a projectile (26) housing the tracer composition (1-1'") which has a bowl-shaped housing (2-2"). The aim of the invention is to obtain a tracer composition (1-1'") in which the risks of generating a large amount of heat is prevented when used in the intended manner, such that the tracer composition (1-1'") does not set the surroundings of the impact bullet on fire. According to the invention, a electric tracer composition (1-1'") is used in which, after the firing of the corresponding projectile (26), the tracer composition is not produced by the combustion of a pyrotechnical mixture but by the illumination of one or more illumination means (14), preferably light emitting diodes and the projectile tracking takes place by means of a "cold" trace.
