[origin: EP3196583A1] A corner junction arrangement for a heat exchanger, comprising a header (13, 15) including a tubular metal vessel (13a, 15a) and an end closure element (13b, 15b), and a side plate (19) consisting of flat metal sheet, which extends orthogonally to the header (13, 15) and is fastened to the end thereof, the side plate (19) having an end tab (21, 23) inserted within the axial slot (13d, 15d) formed in the collar wall portion (13c, 15c) of the tubular vessel (13a, 15a). The end closure element (13b, 15b) has a flat surface (13f) that extends radially from the center to the periphery of the end closure element (13b, 15b) at the axial slot (13d, 15d) formed in the collar wall portion (13c, 15c) of the tubular vessel (13a, 15a), and the end tab (21, 23) of the side plate (19) is joined by means of material coupling to the end closure element (13b, 15b) at said flat surface.
