Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2016044868A1] The invention relates to a riding pad (1) made of a flexible material, comprising a seating region (2), a breast strap (3), and a stomach strap (4) for securing the riding pad (1) on a horse. The aim of the invention is to provide a riding pad (1) with which a balance of a rider can be improved and simultaneously the back musculature of the horse can be strengthened. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the riding pad (1) has two shoulder flaps (5) which are spaced by a recess (6) and which connect the breast strap (3) to the seating region (2). The riding pad (1) is designed such that when the riding pad (1) is secured on a horse, the entire surface of the seating region (2) rests on the back of the horse in the region behind the withers. The entire surface of the shoulder flaps (5) lies laterally to the withers, and the withers of the horse protrudes into the recess (6). The invention further relates to a cushion for a riding pad (1), comprising a cavity which is at least partly filled with a fluid or a foam. The invention further relates to a use of such a cushion.
