[origin: WO2016045777A1] The invention relates to a method for compacting insulating bulk material (S), comprising the steps: filling insulating bulk material (S) into an insulating space (I) of a container (1) to be insulated, evacuating the air from the insulating space (I) to produce a negative pressure in the insulating space (I) relative to the pressure in an exterior space (A) surrounding the container (1), causing the container (1) to vibrate in order to compact the insulating bulk material (S), and supplying the insulating bulk material (S) present in the insulating space (I) with a gas (G) to compact the insulating bulk material (S).
