[origin: WO2016048751A1] Aspects are described for modifying transmission of control channel signaling during wireless communication. The described aspects include detecting a communication condition corresponding to signaling information transmitted on a Dedicated Channel (DCH); determining whether a Dedicated Physical Data Channel (DPDCH) is transmitted based on detecting the communication condition; and performing a Dedicated Physical Control Channel (DPCCH) gating pattern in response to the determination that the DPDCH is not transmitted, wherein performing the DPCCH gating pattern includes intermittently transmitting the DPCCH when one or more signaling radio bearers (SRBs) are not being transmitted.
