[origin: WO2016020058A1] The invention relates to a rectangular seal for sealing a feed-through, in particular for a fluid or a gas, which rectangular seal comprises a sealing body (2), an outer lateral surface (3), two flank surfaces (4a, 4b), and an inner lateral surface (7). According to the invention, the rectangular seal (1) has at least one insertion element (5a; 5b; 25a; 25b), which is provided in a flank surface (4a; 4b) and, proceeding from said flank surface, transitions into the associated lateral surface (3; 7) and which extends peripherally at least along a part of the periphery of the sealing body (2).
