[origin: WO2016055559A1] The wave energy device comprises at least three nodes (1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E), each node being connected to at least another one of the nodes, each node comprising at least one enclosure (11) for housing a water column (100) in an internal space (12) of the enclosure (11). The wave energy device comprises at least one buoyancy chamber (15, 25) associated with means (16, 26) for controlling an amount of water in the buoyancy chamber (15) by pumping water out of and by admitting water into the buoyancy chamber (15, 25), respectively, so as to allow for the adaptation of the mass of the wave energy device to the state of the sea, for enhancing efficiency of energy capture.
