Abstract (en)

The invention relates to a dryer (1) and a method for drying wet laundry (9), wherein the dryer (1) comprises a drum (3), a drum motor (4), an air inlet (51), an air outlet (52) and an air flow generator (6), wherein the dryer (1) further comprises a control unit (8) for controlling the rotational velocity and the flow rate, wherein the dryer (1) further comprises a first humidity sensor (71) for sending a first signal with a value indicative of a first humidity of the air flowing into the drum (3) to the control unit (8) and a second humidity sensor (72) for sending a second signal with a value indicative of a second humidity of the air flowing out of the drum (3) to the control unit (8), wherein the control unit (8) is arranged for controlling the drum motor (4) and the air flow generator (6) by switching between a drying mode and a dehumidification mode based on the first signal and the second signal.
