[origin: WO2016078873A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a component comprising at least two different materials, which method is characterized by the following steps: providing a hardenable flat or preformed steel sheet or steel profiled element, completely or partially heating the steel sheet or steel profiled element to an austenitization temperature, inserting the heated steel sheet or steel profiled element into a first tool in order to hot-form and/or press harden the steel sheet or steel profiled element into a completely or partially hardened steel workpiece, wherein at least one notch is formed in the steel sheet or steel profiled element in the course of the hot-forming and/or press hardening, which at least one notch serves to connect to at least a second material. The problem addressed by the invention is that of proposing a method that overcomes the disadvantages in the prior art. This problem is solved for a method having the features of claim 1.
