[origin: WO2016079164A1] The invention primarily relates to a method for producing methyl-dichloro-phosphane (MDP) by way of reacting methane with PC13 (phosphorus trichloride) in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of a compound of the formula SOxC12, wherein the index x can assume the value 1 (SOC12, thionyl chloride) or 2 (SO2C12, sulfuryl chloride). The invention further relates to certain mixtures, which are particularly well suited for producing methyl-dichloro-phosphane (MDP) within the scope of the method according to the invention, or which are produced during the execution of a method according to the invention.
