Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2016087574A2] The aim of the invention is to improve a bar feeding device, comprising at least one bar guide for supplying at least one bar of material to at least one workpiece spindle of a lathe, and a machining unit for producing an end contour on an end of the bar of material, which allows gripping the end by means of a collet chuck in the rod guide, in such a manner that it operates as efficiently as possible and, in particular, allows reloading of bars of material into the at least one bar guide as efficiently as possible and in a short time, it is proposed that the bar feeding device comprises a bar loading magazine that is rotatable about a magazine axis, which has more than two bar guides arranged about the magazine axis in a magazine drum, and that the bar feeding device comprises a buffer store arranged between the machining unit and the bar loading magazine, said buffer store storing a plurality of premachined bars of material which are provided with the end contour.
