[origin: WO2016087543A1] A power control apparatus (10, 103) is specified and is configured to vary an electrical power delivered to a load (20, 102). The power control apparatus has a control unit (12) and a temperature recording unit (14, 104). The control unit (12) is configured to obtain a power specification from a power specification unit (30, 107) and to detect an interruption in a connection between the power control apparatus (10, 103) and the power specification unit (30, 107). The temperature recording unit (14, 104) is configured to record a temperature of the power control apparatus (10, 103). If there is an interruption in the connection between the power control apparatus (10, 103) and the power specification unit (30, 107), the control unit (12) is configured to change the electrical power delivered to the load (20, 102) on the basis of the temperature recorded by the temperature recording unit (14, 104). This enables autonomous operation of the power control apparatus even if the connection to the power specification unit is interrupted.
