Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2016087108A1] Flap devices for internal combustion engines comprising a flow housing (10) which delimits a flow channel (12), a flap body (14) which is arranged rotatably in the flow channel (12), a shaft (16) on which the flap body (14) is secured, an actuator (28) via which the shaft (16) and the flap body (14) can be rotated in the flow channel (12), and an actuator housing (30) in which the actuator (28) is arranged, are known. According to the invention, in order to create a reliable protection of the flap device against penetration of sprayed water, a projection (40) extending in the direction of the actuator housing (30) is formed on the flow housing (10) and a receiving element (44) extending in the direction of the flow housing (10) is formed on the actuator housing (30), which receiving element abuts radially against the projection (40) of the flow housing (10), wherein a circumferential groove (42) is formed between the projection (40) of the flow housing (10) and the receiving element (44) of the actuator housing (30).
