[origin: WO2016087434A1] The present invention relates to a speed transmission device for motor vehicles, notably for motorized at least two-wheeled vehicles, comprising a drive shaft (12) bearing at least two driving gear wheels (18, 20), a receiving shaft (42) bearing at least two driven gear wheels (44, 46) and an intermediate movement transmission shaft (36) bearing intermediate gear wheels (38, 40) collaborating with the gear wheels of the drive shaft (12) and of the receiving shaft (42). According to the invention, at least one (38) of the intermediate gear wheels is mounted to turn freely on the intermediate shaft (36) and the device comprises a coupling (64) for making the connection between the intermediate shaft (36) and the freely mounted intermediate gear wheel (38).
