[origin: WO2016096003A1] The invention relates to a clamp (19) comprising a band (20) which surrounds an article to be bound and comprising a clasp (21) which is attached to the inner end portion (22) of the band and engages around the band (20), whereas the outer end portion (23) of the band passes through the clasp (21). A tool which comprises a holding device for receiving the clasp (21) together with the band (20) surrounding the article to be bound, a clamping device for clamping the band (20) around the article to be bound by exerting a tensile force on the outer end portion (23) of the band, a locking device (50) for locking the clasp (21) on the band (20), and a separating device for separating off excess band length, serve for fastening the clamp. The locking device (50) has jaws (54) which can be introduced into lateral windows (25) of the clasp (21) for deforming lateral edge parts (24) of the other end portion (23) of the band.
