[origin: WO2016097037A1] The invention relates to a method for predicting the speed of a driver driving a vehicle, comprising the following steps: - measuring the speed of the driver over a first driving zone, - comparing said measured speed with a set of speed profiles, each profile corresponding to a predetermined driver category, - as a function of the result of said comparison, selecting the relevant category for the driver of the vehicle, and - predicting the speed of the driver over a second driving zone as a function of the reference profile of the selected category. The invention also relates to a method for determining speed profiles for the prediction method according to the invention.
