[origin: WO2016096110A1] The invention relates to a method for checking the authenticity of a security feature (8) arranged on a document (6), wherein a check point produces a checking signal and the checking signal is transmitted to a signal-outputting device by means of a transmission network. The signal-outputting device outputs the checking signal to the security feature (8), wherein the security feature (8) produces a response signal from the checking signal and outputs said response signal. The response signal is received by a signal-receiving device and transmitted to the check point by means of the transmission network. The check point makes a decision about the authenticity of the security feature (8) on the basis of the checking signal and the response signal.
