[origin: WO2016102123A1] A flowmeter (1) comprising a sensor unit and a measuring and/or evaluation unit (8) for determining a volume flow rate, a mass flow rate and/or a flow speed of a measurement medium (5) in a tube (2), characterised in that the flowmeter (1) comprises a) the sensor unit for determining the volume flow rate, the mass flow rate and/or the flow speed of the measurement medium, which sensor unit is arranged on or in the tube (2) and b) a microphone (10, 15), which is arranged on or in the tube (2). The microphone is used for switching between an energy-saving operating mode and a normal operating mode. The microphone is likewise used for detecting changes in the state of the measurement medium.
