The bale opener is provided with a fourth driving device and a fifth driving device for the transmission device (4). The bale opener is provided with a sixth driving device for expanding a cover (9). Für die Höhenverstellung des Abtragarms (5) ist ein erster Antrieb, für die Abtragswalze (7) ist ein zweiter Antrieb, für die Drehung des Abtragturms (3) ist ein dritter Antrieb, für das Fahrwerk (4) ist ein vierter und fünfter Antrieb und für das Abrollen der Abdeckung (9) ist ein sechster Antrieb vorgesehen. Der erste Antrieb für die Höhenverstellung des Abtragarms (5) und der zweite Antrieb für die Abtragswalze (7) ist jeweils ein Synchron-Servomotor.
