[origin: WO2016113324A1] The invention concerns an improved method for forming a compact film of particles (4) on the surface of a carrier liquid (16), comprising the following steps: - positioning at least one particle support (40) in the carrier liquid (16), the support comprising at least one solidified portion in which the particles (4) are trapped and that is made from at least one cooled liquid, the melting of the support (40) in said carrier liquid resulting in the release of the particles (4) on the surface of said carrier liquid; and - organising the released particles (4) in such a way as to obtain the compact film of particles on the surface (16') of the carrier liquid (16).
