[origin: WO2016112472A1] The present invention claims a method and a cutting tool with which the insulating material surrounding the inner pipe can be detached and removed from a thermally insulated pipe, such that an annular gap, in which there is no longer any insulating material and in which the now exposed inner pipe has a clean surface without residual insulating material, is produced around the inner pipe. The pipe thus prepared can subsequently be connected to another pipe section with the aid of a plastic fitting.
