The cradle bogie (100) for a rail vehicle comprises a cradle (10) that is rotatable about an axis of rotation (D), and a frame (30) connected to the cradle via a self-centering elastic element (20). The cradle bogie (100) is characterized in that the cradle (10) comprises at least one coupling element (40) for coupling a mechanical coupling to a wagon body, and the elastic element (20) is elastic with respect to rotation and/or tilting of the frame relative to the cradle. The specific elasticity of the elastic element has the advantage that irregularities in a course and/or in a curve of a track with respect to the mechanical coupling in the form of lateral and/or rotational movement are compensated. This leads to less wear on wheels and track.
