[origin: WO2016120470A1] The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for manufacturing of smoking articles with tobacco rods formed from a plurality of tobacco materials. The apparatus comprises a conveyor on which a continuous stream of a first tobacco material is transported to a tobacco rod forming device, and deposition means adapted to deposit a predefined amount of a second tobacco material to predefined areas on the continuous stream of the first tobacco material, and further adapted to simultaneously adjust the height of at least sections of the continuous stream of first tobacco. In particular this invention relates to a method and an apparatus for smoking articles comprising tobacco rods with dense ends.
