[origin: WO2016120405A1] The present invention refers to a composition for feeding animals comprising at least one type of microorganism of the species Lactobacillus reuteri, wherein the microorganism is species-specific for the animal fed with the composition. The composition is used in a method of preventing and/or treating diarrhea by compensating lack of these organisms in animals. In addition, microorganisms of the species Lactobacillus reuteri produce an antibacterial agent at a pH in the range of 3.5 to 5.5.
