[origin: WO2016120079A1] The invention relates to a lock, in particular a mortise lock, comprising a latch (1) which can be pulled back through an opening of a forend, and which has a sliding part (4) on the latch bolt (3) thereof that is guided in the lock housing, for driving a lever and/or a hub, wherein the sliding part (4) is connected to the latch bolt (3) via a coupling member (7) and the connection ca be released by shifting the coupling member (7) to turn the latch (1), and a tool (15) introduced laterally through a housing opening releases the connection between the latch bolt (3) and the sliding part (4). According to the invention, in order to achieve an embodiment that is stable and easy to assemble, the coupling member (7) for coupling with the latch bolt (3) is a spring (7') mounted in the sliding part (4) and having a flat rectangular cross-section, and which engages in a peripheral groove (8) of the latch bolt (3) with the transverse extension thereof.
