The present invention discloses a clothes dryer or washer-dryer (1000). The clothes dryer or washer-dryer (1000) includes: a cabinet (100); an inner drum (200) rotatably disposed in the cabinet (100) and having an air inlet and an air outlet; and a heat pump module (300) disposed to an upper end of the cabinet (100) and including: a casing (1) connected with the cabinet (100) and defining a heat exchange chamber (10a) therein, the heat exchange chamber (10a) having a heat exchange inlet and a heat exchange outlet; a condenser (2) disposed in the heat exchange chamber (10a); a compressor (3) disposed to the casing (1); an evaporator (4) disposed to the casing (1); a throttling device (5) disposed to the casing (1) and sequentially connected with the condenser (2), the compressor (3) and the evaporator (4) to form a heat pump circuit; and a fan assembly (5) disposed to the casing (1) and having an inlet and an outlet, the inlet communicating with the heat exchange outlet, and the outlet communicating with the air inlet. The clothes dryer or washer-dryer (1000) with the heat pump module (300) integrally mounted to the cabinet (100) is simple and compact in structure, convenient to assemble and disassemble, and low in costs of production and maintenance.
