[origin: WO2016124481A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for controlling the starting of a motor vehicle, which includes: a rotor (3) capable of enabling the starting of the motor vehicle; a stator (5); a drive means configured to rotate the rotor (3) in the stator (5); a rotary member (7) capable of unlocking a portion of said motor vehicle, and configured to be rotated with the rotor (3); an indexing assembly (110) configured to lock the rotary member (7) in each of the angular positions (101, 102); and a retaining means (120) configured to retain the rotary member (7) between an angular contact position (101) and an angular stop position (102) when the rotor (3) moves from the angular contact position (101) to the angular stop position (102) without any activity on the part of the driving means.
