Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2016128294A1] The aim of the invention is to provide a disposable brush which allows the pleura to be abraded using pleuroscopy and allows surgeons to adjust the stiffness of the brush and the area to be abraded during the abrasion process. The invention relates to brushes comprising a longitudinal body (2) which supports rigid bristles (7) and slides within a tubular member (3) that is secured to a handle (5a). According to the invention, a manually actuated slide (4) is connected to the longitudinal body (2), is movable within a longitudinal lumen (9) of the handle and cooperates with indexing means (10-11 and/or 15-16) supported on the edges of the lumen; furthermore, the rigid bristles (7) have elastically deformable cambers (13) with different radii of curvature so as to form a flat fan-shaped brush in the deployed operating position outside the tubular member (3), the bristles (7) of said brush extending laterally from the longitudinal axis.
