It is disclosed an amusement ride (1) comprising a vehicle (2) for one or more passengers and lifting means to move said vehicle (2) between a lower position and a raised position, the lifting means comprising a nested tube arrangement (3), having a plurality of nested tubes (3a - 3f), a fluid reservoir (4) for housing an operating fluid (10) fluidically connected to said nested tubes (3a - 3f), and pressurizing means (7) to pressurize said operating fluid (10) for supplying pressurized operating fluid (10) within said nested tubes (3a - 3f) to extend said nested tube arrangement (3) in order to lift said vehicle (2) from said lower position to said raised position.
