[origin: WO2016131542A1] The invention relates to an illumination device (30) for a motor vehicle, wherein the illumination device (30) comprises a light source (21) for providing primary light (22) with a first wavelength spectrum, and a conversion element (23) for converting primary light (22) into secondary light (26) with a predetermined second wavelength spectrum and emitting the secondary light (26). The illumination device (30) furthermore comprises at least one first magnetic field generator (31) for generating a magnetic field in the conversion element (23), as a result of which the emission of the secondary light (26) is reduced within the conversion element (23). The invention furthermore relates to a motor vehicle comprising such an illumination device (30) and a method for operating such an illumination device (30).
