Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2016169735A1] The invention relates to a method for localising a rail vehicle (9) run in a CBTC (communication based train control) train control and train protection system, said rail vehicle comprising an on-board train control device, track-side train protection devices and a localisation unit for detecting position values (P1) during the journey of the rail vehicle (9). In order to be able to carry out rapid localisation of a rail vehicle by means of such a method with comparatively little effort, a localisation of the rail vehicle (9) is performed by means of the localisation unit using a reliable position value (P1) stored in a position of the rail vehicle (9) and using a received position value of the next reference point (7) that is passed during the journey of the rail vehicle (9). The invention further relates to an assembly for localising a rail vehicle.
