[origin: US2018004162A1] Moon phase display mechanism comprising an input pinion which makes three revolutions, respectively two revolutions, in 24 hours, and drives a 19-tooth or respectively 29-tooth drive pinion, which drives a 59-tooth lower wheel bearing a moon disc with a two-coloured depiction including a lighted area and at least one background sky area and also drives a 57-tooth or respectively 58-tooth, upper wheel, coaxial to this lower wheel and which makes one revolution per day and which includes a sky disc with a depiction of the sun, and an aperture opposite this sun, through which is visible one part of this moon disc illustrating the current appearance of the moon.

Mécanisme d'affichage de phase de lune (10) comportant un pignon d'entrée (11) effectuant trois tours, respectivement deux tours, en 24 heures, et entraînant un pignon d'entraînement (13 ; 130) à 19, respectivement 29, dents, lequel entraîne une roue inférieure (15) à 59 dents portant un disque de lune (150 ; 1500) avec une représentation bicolore comportant une zone éclairée (152) et au moins une zone de fond de ciel (151), et entraîne encore une roue supérieure (14 ; 140) à 57, respectivement 58 dents, coaxiale à ladite roue inférieure (15) et faisant un tour par jour et comportant un disque de ciel (1400) avec une représentation du soleil (141) et un guichet (16) à l'opposé dudit soleil (141) par lequel est visible une partie du disque de lune (150 ; 1500) illustrant l'aspect instantané de la lune.
