[origin: EP3269659A1] The sealing device for a paper-based container (3) has an elongated release base member (1) with a double-sided adhesive layer (2) on a major side along the length of the release base member (1). The release base member (1) is adhered to a front portion of a flap (3B) of the container (3) by the double-sided adhesive layer (2) so that the flap may be used to seal the container (3). To open the container (3), a pull strip (12) of the release base member (1) is pulled off and the flap (3B) is separated. To reuse the container (3), a second sealing device is applied to another flap (3A) of the container (3) so that the container (3) may be reused.
