[origin: EP3272720A1] An object would be to propose a glass panel unit with improved thermally insulating and fireproof properties as well as improved appearance, and a glass window including the same. The glass panel unit includes a first glass substrate (1), a second glass substrate (2), a sealing member (3), an inside space (4), and a plurality of spacers (5). The inside space (4) is hermetically enclosed by the first glass substrate (1), the second glass substrate (2), and the sealing member (3), and has reduced pressure. The plurality of spacers (5) are placed in the inside space (4). At least one of the first glass substrate (1) and the second glass substrate (2) is a wire-embedded glass panel (6) with a wire structure (64) embedded therein. The plurality of spacers (5) are arranged so as to overlap with part of the wire structure (64) in a plan view. This glass panel unit is fitted into a window frame to form a glass window.
