[origin: WO2016156146A1] The invention relates to a cleaning device (110) for cleaning articles (124) to be cleaned. The cleaning device (110) comprises at least one cleaning chamber (128) and at least one covering device (134) at least partly enclosing the cleaning chamber (128). The covering device (134) can be moved over an opening path from a closed position into an open position or vice versa. The covering device (134) is connected via at least one force transmission section (182) to at least one spring element (176). At least one spring force from the spring element (176) can be transmitted to the covering device (134) by means of the force transmission section (182). The force transmission section (182) has at least one torque converter (166). The torque converter (166) has a transmission ratio that varies over the opening path.
