[origin: WO2016165686A1] The invention relates to a package (1) for rolled stock (2), comprising a first, outer enveloping layer (4) of a film material. Such rolled stock often has to be temporarily stored before use, often out in the open or at least in locations that are only insufficiently protected from the weather. Penetrating moisture can in this case cause great damage. Moreover, because of its size and its weight, the rolled stock often cannot be easily handled. It is therefore the aim of this invention to provide a package of the type in question that ensures protection of the rolled stock from penetrating moisture and at the same time facilitates the handling of the packaged rolled stock. In particular, such a package must not be more expensive than the packages that are already known. This is achieved according to the invention by the package (1) comprising a second, inner enveloping layer (3) of a paper or cardboard material, which as an intermediate layer separates the rolled stock (2) from the outer enveloping layer (4), wherein a tear-open thread (5) is provided on a surface of the inner enveloping layer (3) in such a way that, when the package (1) is opened, it divides both the inner enveloping layer (3) and the outer enveloping layer (4) by means of a tearing-open cut, and the package additionally comprises at least one end plug (6), which has a substantially cylindrical or conical push-in body (7) for engaging in an opening (8) in the rolled stock (2) that is on the end face and concentric to the longitudinal axis (X-X) of the rolled stock (2), and also has at least one means for coupling the tear-open thread (5) to the end plug (6).
