Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2016174514A1] A hybrid fuel supply system for diesel and other fuel injected internal combustion engines; the system including separate liquid fuel and compressed hydrogen gas sources, and wherein a hydrogen gas supply module calculates or obtains from "maps" instant liquid fuel requirements based on engine size and capacity and at least one parameter output from the engine's control unit (ECU) to derive an instant volume of hydrogen gas for addition to the engine's fuel injection system. Also disclosed is a hydrogen gas supply modulating system which suitably employs a variable pressure regulator to supply hydrogen to an air intake manifold of the engine in response to instant operating conditions. The air intake of the engine may further include a diffuser, such as free- spinning turbine, to mix air with the hydrogen gas.
