[origin: EP3290374A1] A method for identifying a person by an elevator system (10, 10', 10") comprises: acquiring identification data (48) of the person with an identification device (46); matching the identification data (48) with user profiles (52) of a plurality of persons, which user profiles (52) are stored in an identification database (34); when a user profile (52) is found based on the identification data (48): switching in a personal mode, which is associated with the user profile (52) and interacting with the person in the personal mode; and when no user profile (52) is found: switching in an anonymous mode, and interacting with the person in the anonymous mode.
