[origin: WO2016177520A1] The present invention relates to a method for treating a gas including 0 ppm by volume to 0.5 vol % of at least one of the compounds COS and CS2, and 30 ppm by volume to 5 vol % of unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds, said method including the following steps: a) hydrogenating unsaturated organic compounds to form paraffins, by placing said gas in contact with a hydrogenation catalyst in the presence of hydrogen at a temperature of between 100 and 400°C so as to supply an effluent that is depleted of unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds, the hydrogenation catalyst including at least one metal selected from among palladium, platinum, nickel and cobalt deposited on a porous substrate; b) performing catalytic hydrolysis-hydrogenation in the presence of water of the COS and/or of the CS2 contained in the effluent obtained from step a) so as to provide an effluent that is rich in H2S by placing the effluent obtained from step a) in contact with a hydrolysis-hydrogenation catalyst.
