[origin: WO2016177556A1] The present invention relates to a device for injecting water of an internal combustion engine (2), comprising a water tank (5) for storing water, at least one water injector (6) for injecting water, which water injector is connected to the water tank (5), at least one UV lamp (12) which is configured to emit ultra violet radiation, and a control unit (10) which is configured to switch on the UV lamp (12) for decontaminating water and injecting the decontaminated water. The invention further relates to an internal combustion engine which comprises a device according to the invention. A further aspect of the invention relates to a method for injecting water.
