[origin: WO2016178033A1] Methods, systems and computer-readable media for identifying a sample mixture based on relative isotope ratios for a plurality of compounds in the sample mixture by correlating a set of three of more relative isotope ratios for a sample mixture with a set of three or more delta values for one of more reference mixtures, wherein the delta values are indicative of a relative isotope composition for a plurality of compounds in the reference mixtures. In this manner, the set of three or more isotope ratios for the sample mixture serves as an isotope ratio signature which is independent of any underlying calibration of the apparatus used to obtain the relative isotope ratio values.
