[origin: WO2016185105A1] The invention relates to a method for shaping a part by stamping a sheet metal blank (2). Said method includes the following steps: (a) placing the sheet metal blank (2) onto equipment for shaping by stamping, said equipment including a die (4) and a punch (8) that is capable of engaging with the die (4) via insertion therein, and (b) bringing the die (4) and the punch (8) nearer to each other in a working direction, with a view to forming the part. In step (a), the sheet metal blank (2) includes at least one tab (22) at least at one edge, and in step (b), the or each tab (22) is folded between the die (4) and the punch (8) and ensures the sheet metal blank (2) is held. The invention also relates to the equipment (4, 6, 8) for carrying out the method in question.
