[origin: WO2016198432A1] The present invention relates to an illuminated safety belt buckle for a safety belt device of a motor vehicle, comprising a housing (1), a push-button (2) that can be moved in the housing (1), an insertion slot (12) for insertion of a belt tongue that can be locked in the safety belt buckle, said insertion slot being delimited by an edge portion (23) of the housing (1) and the push-button (2), and at least one light-radiating surface (13, 14), said light-radiating surface (13, 14) having a linear contour the shape of which is adapted to the shape of an edge face (24) of the push-button (2) which is arranged lateral as seen in the viewing direction toward the insertion slot (12).
